Call me a ‘Wet Bandit’, but I’ve never been the biggest fan of Home Alone. Having just become a teenager when it was released in 1990, I was more likely to want to wedgie Macaulay Caulkin than cheer him on in humiliating Joe Pesci.
How can you enjoy watching Tommy DeVito from Goodfellas (Pesci), and the voice of Kevin Arnold in the Wonder Years (Daniel Stern).
So while Home Alone is often voted among the best Christmas films ever made, I’d rather watch Home Alone go 8 Bit. And the fact it’s done in just over 2 minutes makes it a far better alternative before I go and watch happier Christmas movies like Die Hard and Gremlins.
