It’s harder to get excited about future releases when there’s so much music being released every day. But there are some exceptions. When the Screaming Females announce new album ‘All At Once’, I immediately pay attention. Not only because it’s likely to be part of my soundtrack to the next year. But also because pre-ordering comes with some significant benefits.
All At Once is the 7th album from the trio, and will be released on February 23rd, 2018. It’s produced by Matt Bayles, who worked on their previous record, the brilliant Rose Mountain. He’s also produced the likes of Mastodon and Soundgarden. And the recordings in Seattle’s London Bridge Studio and Red Room included adding additional instruments into the mix, along with Fugazi drummer Brendan Canty guesting as a second percussionist on ‘Soft Domination’.
If you aren’t already a fan of Screaming Females, then you’re missing out on some exciting alternative pop punk. Singer and guitarist Marissa Paternoster has rightfully earned a reputation for her six string skills. Add her memorable and sometimes mesmerising vocal style, and it’s understandable that occasionally the talents of drummer Jarrett Dougherty and the epically-named King Mike (Mike Abbate) on bass aren’t mentioned enough…
And if you don’t want to take my word for it, they’ve played with some legendary names including Garbage, Throwing Muses and Dinosaur Jr. Fortunately they’ve also released new single Glass House.

Sadly the $149.99 Gallery Edition is already sold out. Lucky buyers get the tri-fold jacket with 3 LPs. And a hand painted sleeve signed and numbered by Marissa Paternoster, plus a limited signed 8×10 photo of the band. Only 10 were available to buy, so it’s not a shock they’ve already gone…
