COMICS
A few months ago I would never have thought I’d be writing about a comic with the title See New Worlds: A Journey Through Time to Discover the Future of Dundee, but, upon being sent a copy from an acquaintance in Dundee, I’ve been really impressed.
The comic came out a few months ago to coincide with the Six Cities festival in Dundee, which I know no more about than can be gleaned from a bit of googling, but I sure do like the comic. It’s a time travelling story celebrating the history and topography of Dundee, where a girl helping her mother prepare the 2037 Six Cities festival is projected into a computer to fix whatever bug is threatening the smooth running of the event.
I’ve never been to Dundee and have been turned off by people disrecommending it to me (“disrecommending” is a made-up euphemism to cover “don’t go near that shithole” comments) but now, because of this comic, I very much want to see what the place is like. Perhaps I will make it to the next Six Cities festival, or indeed the 2037 one.
