All number of amazing things crop up on auction sites from time to time. And this is a case in point – the original Liberator ship model used in all first three series of the BBC TV series Blake’s 7.

For those of you unfamiliar with it, the series was created by Terry Nation, who also created the Daleks for Doctor Who, and it ran from 1978 to 1981 with a group of renegades and convicted criminals led by Roj Blake (played by Gareth Thomas), who work against the Terran Federation.
The Liberator starred in the first three series before becoming irreparably damaged and replaced by the Scorpio for the fourth series.
It remains a much loved series, incluencing countless sci-fi programmes since. And it was announced in 2013 that a new series would appear on SyFy, but the project has since been under negotiations to appear on Xbox Live. In the meantime, you can find the original shows in the usual places online…
And for the older reader, or potentially your parents, here’s the intro…
In the meantime, you’ll need deep pockets to pick up the original prop which currently has a £33,000 Buy It Now price, although as a private auction, it’s not known what offers may have been made.
