It’s not surprising that a detailed sculpture of the Merc with a Mouth proved incredibly popular. The Amecomi Yamaguchi Deadpool sculpture originally sold out before it was released. Kaiyodo have now commissioned a re-run, but the pre-order deadline is short as it appropriately ends on Valentine’s Day, Feb 14th, 2017.
The Amecomi range refers to American comics, and the first in the series has been created by legendary sculptor Yamaguchi Katsuhisa. And with Revoltech ball joints, you’re able to post the Amecomi Yamaguchi Deadpool sculpture in pretty much whatever position you want.
That makes it great for being able to admire the minute attention to detail in the figure. And there are an assortment of different parts to customise Deadpool to your liking. The figure comes with:
- 2 Japanese katana swords
- 1 Scabbard
- 2 Handguns
- Optional face
- 4 Optional eyes (frowning, surprised, comic style line eyes, heart)
- 6 Optional hands (open hand set, gun & sword gripping hand set, thumb up hand set)

The Amecomi Yamaguchi Deadpool sculpture itself stands roughly 160mm tall, with 17 joints and 36 articulation points.
So if you’re a fan of Wade Wilson since he originally appeared in the pages of The New Mutants back in February 1991, or a new convert since the Ryan Reynolds film released in 2016, you’ll be able to emulate your favourite moments.
It’ll also be good to have before the Deadpool 2 movie sequel is released in 2018. It’s being written by the team of Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, and will again star Reynolds in the title role. But Deadpool director Tim Miller has quit the sequel to be replaced by David Leitch (Director of John Wick 1 and 2).
Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), Colosus (Stefan Kapicic) and tax driver Dopinder (Karan Soni) are all in line to return, and both Vanessa Carlysle (Morena Baccarin) and Weasel (TJ Miller) are hinting they’ll also be involved. It’s also likely to be the film debut for time-travelling mutant commando Cable and fellow X-Force and mercenary superhero Domino.
The Amecomi Yamaguchi Deadpool figure is available for pre-order from Play Asia until February 14th, 2017, and is expected to ship at the end of May 2017. It costs £40.13.
