The Revenant stars Leonardo DiCaprio as American frontiersman Hugh Glass. Directed and co-written by Alejandro G. Inarritu, it’s loosely based on a true story of epic survival. In 1823, Glass was mauled by a grizzly bear and left for dead. Despite a broken leg and savage wounds he managed to travel more than 200 miles to the nearest American settlement.

The film is an adaptation of the 2002 novel by Michael Punke which adds a revenge theme to the story. The cast also includes Tom Hardy and Domhnall Gleeson. The Revenant is released to limited cinemas on December 25th, 2015, with a worldwide release on January 8th, 2016.
