Free Marvel Heroes Omega MMO Out June 30 on Xbox One and PS4

14th June 2017 By Dan Thornton Leave a Comment

Is it possible to reach peak Marvel? Not if the constant film and videogame expansions of the comic book universe are anything to go by. And there’s another addition with the free Marvel Heroes Omega RPG MMO coming to Xbox One and PS4 on June 30th, 2017.

Marvel Heroes Omega MMO RPG

Marvel Heroes Omega has been available for the PC and Mac, and in open beta on the PS4 for a while. The original Marvel Heroes arrived on PC back in 2013. And it has a storyline and scripting by comic author Brian Michael Bendis, who has worked on Ultimate Spider-Man, New Avengers, Avengers vs X-Men and a lot more.

You get a lot of charracters to choose from, including Iron Man, Thor, Wolverine, Hulk, Spider-Man, Captain America, Rocket Raccoon, Deadpool and more. All heroes are fully playable to level 10, and you earn more characters for free by playing. The full roster has expanded from 21 heroes at launch to 61, including villains and lesser-known characters like Squirrel Girl.

After level 10, you can unlock a character with in-game or real cash to continue to the maximum level cap of 60. And that includes the Guardians of the Galaxy, the X-Men, the Inhumans, the Defenders and the Avengers. Fortunately with so many teams, it includes iconic locations to join up with friends. These include the Avengers Tower and the S.H.I.E.L.D Helicarrier. Plus it also has local co-op multiplayer, which is handy. Especially if you want to join up with younger Marvel fans.

If you’ve been playing the PS4 beta, then there’s good news as progress will carry over. And there will be Marvel Heroes Omega Founder’s Packs for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions. The current PS4 founders packs cost between £14.99 (for single characters like Spider-Man and Deadpool) and £49.99 (for teams including the Avengers and X-Men), and will unlock a set of characters, bonus costumes, combination boosts, and additional currency. There are currently five available – and if you buy all 5, then you also get bonuses including a timed exclusive Symbiote Spider-Man costume and Iron Fist hero.

Marvel Heroes Omega

The game is developed by Gazillion, who have a couple of years left on their exclusive 10-year deal to develop Marvel Entertainment games. So expect more content to be released for Marvel Heroes Omega, which was created on Unreal Engine 3.
