Pilot Sports Flies Onto Xbox and PC

29th July 2019 By Dan Thornton Leave a Comment

One of those unashamedly retro-inspired games it’s handy to know about when you have family and friends, round, Pilot Sports flies onto Xbox and PC to join existing Switch and PS4 versions.

It’s a co-op flying sim on an island, which allows you to compete with friends and family up to 4 player split-screen action. And while many people might be thinking of the classic Pilotwings, this will at least save you tracking down an old cartridge on eBay. Plus, the SNES version was only 2 player, while we all know how well N64 controller analogue sticks last…

Plus Pilot Sports does allow PS4, PC and Xbox owners to experience the casual flying fun.

For those tempted, there are 2 planes, 2 jet packs and 2 hangliders to control, along with a parachute. Which need to be controlled in 7 different types of challenge, covering more than 50 courses.

Local competitors can choose from a selection of 8 different characters, and developers Z-Software GmbH have tried to make the game accessible and colourful to allow younger and older games to both enjoy it.

And that’s about your lot, really.

“Pilot Sports is a funny flying simulation game perfect for every age, and allowing players a chance to compete with each other, makes for an even more enjoyable experience. We are proud to have developed this game, and even more excited now to be releasing our game on both Steam PC and Xbox One, allowing us to simultaneously introduce Pilot Sports to new audiences seeking retro-inspired and or family-friendly games.” – Andreas Heldt, Head of Z-Software GmbH.

You can get Pilot Sports for the PC via Steam, or for the Xbox via the Microsoft Store for a price of £16.74.

For those of an older vintage, it’s still possible to track down copies of Pilotwings on eBay. Although prices are starting to get quite worrying for what was such a common SNES and N64 title. For once Amazon is actually a generally more reasonably priced option. Or there’s also the more recent 2011 released of Pilotwings Resort for the Nintendo 3DS.
