Horror game White Noise 2 is now available on Steam Early Access, priced at £5.59 for PC, Mac and Linux. The launch includes both solo and online play, and two massive game locations with the abandoned St John’s Hospital and disorientating Norwood Priory.

It’s described as an asymmetrical horror. Which basically means you can either choose to team up with three other players to investigate and find eight hidden tapes, or decide to go solo as the nightmarish creature trying to stop them. The team will be hampered by trying to maintain batteries for their torches, but the light will stop the creature temporarily. Which is useful, as the single player tormenting the group has access to idols and spells to pick them off one by one.

If you do get caught out, the game isn’t over. You’re able to rise as a ghost and continue to explore and help your other investigators.

There are a selection of characters to pick from with different specialisations and skills. And in addition to a replay screen at the end of each game, there are also various unlockables including new characters, creatures and torches to give some incentives to replay the two spooky locations.

The game is developed by Milstone Studios. The Spanish indie devs have produced 25 games to date, including Ziggurat, Pharaonic, and White Noise Online.
